Choosing the right material
The key part of the development process is choosing the right material which will best serve your product. EPS is lightweight, durable and versatile. It can be molded in any form. Exceptional impact resistance and compression strength allows the EPS to be used in the form of protective packaging for products and items of great value. EPS is also used for technical applications in the car industry. Thermo insulating properties of EPS make it a unique material of its kind for packaging fresh food and pharmacological products which must be kept at a certain temperature.
What is EPS?
Expanded polystyrene is a hard cellular plastic with a closed cellular foam structure consisting of small bubbles of a microscopic size. It contains 98% of air, which makes it extremely light, and consequently one of the simplest of the insulating packaging materials available. (Middle thermal insulation level of EPS is 0,037 W (Mk) at 15 g / density).
