SAVINGS AND ECOLOGY

The share spent on heating and cooling of the housing and workspace in the total amount of fossil fuels spent is not negligible. Until recently no attention was paid to thermal insulation of residential and commercial facilities due to the low cost of fossil fuels and the generally accepted opinion that their use does not cause any harmful effects on the environment.

Unfortunately we ourselves witnessed climate changes due to the so-called greenhouse effect resulting from releasing  excessive amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, which is created by the combustion of fossil fuels.

The simplest way to reduce CO2 emissions is to reduce the amount of energy needed for heating and cooling. It is possible to achieve this by thermal insulation of residential and commercial facilities, thereby not only reducing the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere, but also saving a small amount of energy consumed.

EPS AND ECOLOGY

EPS is an elegant solution for thermal isolation. Why? First of all because it is cheaper compared to other thermal insulation materials with improved thermal insulation properties.

EPS is not toxic because it doesn’t contain hydrocarbons substituted by halogen elements (such as fluorine and chlorine). Its use saves several times more energy than is required for its production.

The use of EPS as thermal insulation directly affects the amount of energy needed for heating and cooling the rooms, therefore, a better insulation reduces fuel consumption required for heating and cooling  the rooms. One can say that the use of EPS for thermal insulation has a indirect impact on reducing CO2 emissions in the environment and thereby saves money, and PROTECTS THE ENVIRONMENT. EPS is a material that is 100% recyclable. EPS does not rot, does not create a mold, does not promote the growth of microorganisms and does not fall apart.

Plastform Ltd. is the first company in Croatia which has approval for mechanical recovery (recycling) of the EPS packaging, so we would kindly request that, if there is a place in your area for collecting EPS for recycling, you do not dispose of EPS in the places which are not intended for such purpose, but that you help us achieve a common goal, and that is the preservation of OUR SHARED ENVIRONMENT.

It is therefore legitimate to say that the EPS (styrofoam ®) has no negative impact on the environment, on the contrary, due to its primary application in the construction industry, which is saving energy, and the ability to be easily recycled , it is one of the most important factors in the environment.
