SAVINGS AND ECOLOGY
The share of residential and commercial space heating and cooling in the total amount of fossil fuels consumed is not negligible. Until recently, no attention was paid to the thermal insulation of residential and commercial buildings due to the low price of fossil fuels and the generally accepted opinion that their use does not harm the environment.
Unfortunately, we are witnesses to climate change, the so-called greenhouse effect, which is a consequence of the release of excessive amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, which develops through the combustion of fossil fuels.
The simplest way to reduce CO2 emissions is to reduce the amount of energy needed for heating and cooling. This can be achieved by thermally insulating residential and commercial buildings, which not only reduces the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere but also saves on the amount of energy consumed.
EPS AND ECOLOGY
EPS is an elegant solution for thermal insulation. Why? First of all, it is cheaper than other thermal insulation materials with better thermal insulation properties.
EPS is non-toxic because it does not contain hydrocarbons substituted with halogen elements (such as fluorine and chlorine). Its use saves many times more energy than is needed for its production.
Using EPS as thermal insulation directly affects the amount of energy needed to heat and cool rooms, so by better insulation, we reduce the consumption of fuel needed to heat and cool rooms. We can say that by using EPS as thermal insulation, we indirectly affect the reduction of CO2 emissions into the environment and thus save money, and WE PRESERVE NATURE.
EPS is a material that can be 100% recycled. EPS does not rot, does not form mold, does not promote the growth of microorganisms, and does not decompose.
Plastform d.o.o. is the first in Croatia to have approval for mechanical recovery (recycling) of EPS (waste polystyrene), and we ask that, if there are places in your town for collecting EPS for recycling, do not throw EPS in places that are not intended for this, but help us in our common goal, which is to preserve OUR COMMON ENVIRONMENT.
Therefore, it can rightly be said that EPS (styrofoam®) does not hurt the environment; on the contrary, precisely because of its basic application in construction, which is energy saving, and the possibility of its simple recycling, it is one of the most important factors in environmental protection.

PLASTFORM RECYCLES AND CARES ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT
Environmental protection
At Plastform, we put environmental protection at the heart of our business. Our polystyrene insulation is not only a top-notch solution for thermal and acoustic protection, but also an environmentally friendly material that supports sustainable construction. By using our products, you reduce your impact on nature, ensure energy efficiency, and contribute to preserving resources for future generations. The polystyrene we offer is designed with the aim of reducing waste and promoting a greener approach to construction.
Recycling polystyrene – a sustainable solution
Our polystyrene is 100% recyclable, making it one of the most sustainable materials for thermal insulation and acoustic insulation on the market. The polystyrene recycling process allows for its full reuse, reducing waste and saving natural resources. Whether you use it to insulate your roof, floor, or walls, you can be sure that you are choosing a product that not only improves the energy performance of your facility but also supports a circular approach to materials management.
EPD certificate – confirmation of ecological quality
Plastform Styrofoam proudly carries the EPD certificate (Environmental Product Declaration), an internationally recognized certificate of environmental acceptability of our products. This certificate, aligned with EU standards, proves that our styrofoam environmental protection meets the highest environmental requirements throughout the entire life cycle – from production to recycling. EPD confirms transparency and reliability, making our styrofoam the ideal choice for clients who want a combination of superior insulation and responsibility towards nature.
