Company Plastform d.o.o. within the Call for Proposals “Increasing the development of new products and services resulting from research and development activities – Phase II” from the Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020 programme. Successfully implemented the project entitled “Development and research of PLASTOPOR compact EPS (F) boards”. The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund. The implementation of the project began on March 5, 2020, and the duration of the project was 42 months, i.e. until September 5, 2023. The industrial research phase lasted from March 5, 2020 to March 5, 2023, and the experimental development phase from March 5, 2023 to September 5, 2023.

The partner in the project was the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Zagreb.

Project Summary: The project Development and Research plastopor compact EPS F boards, implemented by PLASTFORM d.o.o. and faculty of civil engineering Zagreb, was implemented in the thematic priority area S3 ENERGY AND SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT, sub-thematic priority area Energy technologies, systems and equipment and sub-thematic priority area Environmentally friendly technologies, equipment and advanced materials. The result of the project is PLASTOPOR compact EPS F panel with improved thermal insulation and fireprotection properties.

The activities of the project were:

  • Exploring the relevant characteristics of an innovative EPS board
  • Simulations of board properties using numerical models
  • Investigation of the impact of ampoules to minimize fuel properties
  • Production of laboratory samples
